Sweaters are a winter classic. They’re so comfortable and can be super simple to style. One of my favorite things about sweaters is that they come in many different shapes and sizes. You can dress them up or throw your hair up and dress them down. Whichever way you choose they look flawless. Below i’ll discuss four different types of sweaters and how to style them.

1. STYLED WITH A CUTE SUMMER DRESS
Buying winter clothes can be expensive so why not repurpose and reuse your favorites from summer? You can turn almost any of your cute summer dresses into a winter dress by combining it with a nice warm sweater. During transition months a sweater would be enough, but when it starts to get really cold you can combine it with tights and your favorite knee-high boots or booties.

PRO TIP: If your sweater is too long for your summer dress, place a tight-fitting bra over it. Tuck the bottom of the sweater into the band of the bra for a nice, pretty cropped look. Style it with some layered jewelry your favorite tights and knee-high boots are you’re ready to take on the cold.

2. STYLING SHERPA PULLOVER SWEATERS
Sherpa pullover sweaters are one of my all-time favorite winter sweaters. They SCREAM comfortable with their soft fluffy fabric and oversizeness. They are made for the classic comfortable look and pair well with leggings, chucks, or booties. For the ultimate figure forming look, size up and pair with tight bottoms. It’ll make you look more slender.

3. STYLING OVERSIZED SWEATERS
An oversized sweater with jeans is one of the more simple ways to style a sweater and one of my absolute favorite ways. You can dress this style up by going for a more fancy type of bottom as well as adding your favorite pair of pumps. Go for a more comfy look and pair an oversized turtleneck sweater with your favorite pair of sweats and chucks.

PRO TIP: Turn an oversized sweater into an oversized sweater dress by going a size or two bigger on your sweater choice. (Plus, you’ll also pay the price of a sweater vs. the oh so popular sweater dress this season.)

4. STYLING SWEATER DRESSES
Sweater dresses are all the rage this winter season and they don’t have to be that difficult to style. Find your favorite style (loose or tight-fitting) and combine it with your favorite knee-high boots for the ultimate look. This look also goes well with a nice loose-fitting scarf and a nice oversized long coat.

A sweater dress also pairs perfectly with your holiday plans. Grab yourself a pretty red sweater dress, some black tights, and booties to hit the living room to sip on your favorite holiday cocktail.
